(btw, you can pay with Amazon account, makes it very easy)

And then put some money in to it. I don’t care how much, but as much as you possibly can get if you pool all your accounts, loan as much as you can from bank, and sell your body.

I don’t usually post here too much about other things than my hobbies, or what I have created lately. But this is a definite thing for me. If you loved Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 games, this is the project you should be supporting in order to get more games like that back in to the world.

So, go to the website and please invest some money in to it. It would warm my jaded old heart.

Amazing, I’m back!

I could do the usual and say “real life got in the way”, but that’s bullshit. It’s not like I can’t take off fifteen minutes to write some blather here. Of course, I have NOT created anything since the last time I was around. So the silence hasn’t been completely random.

Y’see, like any artist I have creative ebbs and tides, and mine are particularly strong. So, I painted “Tali”, “Thoughts”, and “Languish”. My three best paintings in less than a month. So, I guess I burned out. I haven’t been able to do shit, but I am finally doing a comeback. I have been doing bunch of tumbnail sketches and some of them look really cool, plus I have been thinking about doing some music.

So, yeah. Give me time, I’m on the road to recovery, or something.

I’ve also been playing a lot of Magic The Gathering Online. Plus Spectromancer, Astral Masters, and Elementals: The Game. Also been longingly looking at my Cthulhu LCG cards and wishing I had people to play it with. As you can deduce, if you know the games, I’ve been in a bit of a card game craze. Not too much. I’ve always liked card games like this. On a counter point, I loathe Poker and the regular deck of cards.

As an artist, it’s also interesting to look at the cards just for the art, nevermind the rules which is also something that I enjoy.

If you are up for a game on Cockatrice or Magic Online you can find me as “straechav” – to your eternal surprise, I’m sure. Word of warning, though, I don’t put a lot of money in to the game so I only play Standard on Magic Online, because every time I start playing on Extended I get raped by some super-expensive deck. I don’t mind Extended, especially since I love Eventide, and it ain’t legal no more.

Anyway, I’ll be back.

And start doing 3D models for Luola. Urr. We’re having some issues with the meshtool and how it converts or deals with the models I export from Modo and someone suggested to me I should move to XSI. I almost exploded. I love modelling in Modo, and I like the texture tools a lot more. Somehow the XSI texture tools just give me a headache. That said, I don’t know why I am whining, because all I will be modelling is some fucking rocks.

Whooptidoo, hardcore.

I do need to model a some kind of enemy ship as well, though. Hmph. Then I’m off to making sounds. Probably should get some music done, but I have over a week still (we have a deadline of last day this month, as we’ve sort of committed not to using more than a month to making some small game). It’s kinda funny that we’ve spent as long as we have on the game, it kinda shows that we do it only when we feel like it.

Lazy content farming, what’s that? Well, that’s what I call it when I grab an song that I posted on my band’s blog a while back in my own blog as a new content! So, anyway, the reason why I am posting this song is because I am in a “videogamey” mood after the Tali painting, and this song also references videogames. I avoid publishing any KF material on this blog directly because it’s mostly “fucking heavy” or just somewhat heavy.

Not exactly suitable for the lowest-common denominator, and I assume thus that most people who read this blog wouldn’t care for it.

Anyway, this song is basically a solo production that we just released under KF moniker. It’s about as heavy as you can get and still have “electronic” track without excessive distortion. You could say it was a precursor, or the final push to start my Project Mayhem.

So, I hope some of you enjoy the song. You can go to the KF blog post about the song to read a little more about it if you’re so inclined.

One of the impetus for me to create this new blog is “Luola” which is a small simple game that I am working on with my friend Ville. We’re doing a very non-inspired design, where you have a little ship you fly around in and shoot enemies with. We’re doing this because it gives us a little game to work on, and also we can work on this small game engine that Ville has been working on. Once the game’s up and working, we’ll do another small game with some more features and so forth. Until we have a robust engine that we feel comfortable to tackle a bigger game with.

Some of the more interesting implications of this little game project is that I have to re-familiarize myself with 3D art. I’ve long done modelling to help with my 2D art (perfect perspective for free!), but it’s been a long time since I did any texture-mapping or serious work. When you lay down cubes or fast simple models to give you a sense of space and to use as guides in a painting – you don’t really bother with these details.

So, that’s one of my current projects. I’ll post about it more as we go along, and once we have a full game I’ll especially make sure to post it here.
