Hello,

So, what is it that I’ve been sitting on for last few days? Well, I’ve gone and bought myself a new Saxophone. Specifically a Tenor Saxophone. So, yes, that’s what I am up to now. Learning to play it. It’s quite a bit different from the Bamboo Sax, but the actual “blowing and making good sound” part of it isn’t that different.

It might be just my imagination, but I feel that it’s easier to get a decent tone out of this proper saxophone, compared to the flute.

While it might be unnecessary to point out, I’ll go ahead and say it out loud.

This will change what kind of music I make, and how soon I will make it, and so forth. In fact, I suspect this instrument will more or less change my life. I can’t really stress how much I have wanted a saxophone for ages. I “play” bass, but I don’t really care about bass. It’s just an instrument.

But Saxophone, man… there’s soul in that sound, and I want to find it.

ANYWAY, don’t be worried. I’ll still make industrial and metal that will bash your heads in. But now there might be some unconventional additions. If nothing else, my approach to composing will probably change quite radically.

Incidentally, I am also completely broke now and up to my neck in debt.

See you later!

Sorry, nothing to post right now. A little busy because I have to pack enough to last for my three week exodus. We did indeed create a new song for King Fear with El, but I haven’t had time to mix it properly. Although the rough mix is pretty good already.

It’s quite a bit mellower than the previous song, but it’s definitely in the same vein.

Anyway, tomorrow I’ll be gone by Wednesday I will be able to talk a little about my “big” news about music.

Sorry for being a little quiet for few days, but there’s exciting things in the progress!

I can’t say much yet publicly, but once the weekend is done you can expect some really great news. I am not sure if there will be any new content, possibly. We’ll get together with El so we might churn out some more King Fear material, but we’ll see. As it stands I am not going to be able to do much music (or anything) until next week. Which is when I need to move out of the apartment for three weeks.

So, yeah. I am not quite sure what will happen with making new content, but we’ll see.

Regardless of actual songs you can listen to there is something interesting brewing that will definitely impact what kind of music, and how often, and how I make that music. Et cetera.

Sunday.

So, I’m working on some of our older songs. Touching up the mixes where necessary and then readying them for a release. It’s going to take a while since there’s no real deadline, but I assume you can expect either of two releases fairly soon. One is three songs of glitchy guitar Industrial Metal. Much more laidback than the newest song “Artificial Solution”. The other release is two songs of pretty straightforward rock’n'roll with veeeery minor electronic elements.

I’ve also started the work on reworking the mixes of the “Fourth Empire” which is our unreleased fourth album. It was intended to have vocals on it, so it was composed as such, so it might be a little uninteresting at some places as an instrumental. But, it’s also on its way. It is beyond punishing, btw. It’s absolutely ridiculously heavy. That’s my professional opinion.

Of course, you can also expect the release of my Solo Album “Seed” soon.

I also need to work on the cover art for such future releases. I will also be starting the planning phase of future No More Cocaine releases as well.

In a word: Busy.

But, unfortunately from 4.4 on forwards I will not be home for three weeks. This means that everything I am working on will be pushed back three weeks. I might be able to work on some new material, although it’s unlikely. But I certainly won’t be able to work on remastering or retouching older material for release.

Another addition to the Midnight EP. This one is borderline “post-rock”, believe it or not. Not really sure what style of music this is, but it’s not like anything else on the EP. But I think it rocks, so here you go, enjoy the Epic journey.

King Fear is back! We did a track with El yesterday, so we actually have something ready. I also have two more tracks that we did earlier that I will have to mix and release in Bandcamp soon. This means that there will soon be more interesting music in the bandcamp, other than just my personal projects. But, here’s the song. It’s high-speed high-octane Industrial Metal. Very much like the usual fast stuff from King Fear, but of course better produced (I’d like to think so anyway) than our previous releases.

So, yeah, I couldn’t keep my hands off from the Dark Ambient side of the world. So, I added one more song to the EP. I’ll probably do at least one more if I know myself, but we’ll see.

I’ve been mixing and making music for a long time (it feels strange to say that, since it feels like I started yesterday). So I’ve developed quite an array of bad (or possibly good) habits. But I do try to make a point to completely rework the way I do music. I’ve done it twice already.

Once when I did our third album, and once when I moved from Samplitude (pro) to Reaper. Yes, I use Reaper. I find it amusing that I moved from the most expensive to DAW in to the (more or less) cheapest one on the market.

I like the crazy routing options in the Reaper, so I am somewhat unwilling to move away from that.

Anyway, I think it’s become a time to change the way I work. Again. Basically I’ve been looking at new and old plugins that I own, and new free ones. I’m trying to find alternatives to the ones I’ve been using for few years now.

I’ve had a reasonable success, although it hasn’t been without expenses. However, I will finish working on “Seed” with my current setup. Once that’s done, I’ll more or less try my best to approach mixing completely anew. Well, given certain values of “anew”.

However, I will have to move out of my apartment for three weeks soon, so there’s most likely will be a slight delay before I can really get down to business.

But, I have plenty of ideas, so there will be more music coming out soon.

So, this is an EP only if you’re very charitable. It has two songs and is about twelve minutes and some odd scraps long. One song is more “Dark Jazz” if you’re charitable, and the other is just pure Desolate/Dark Ambient. You can download it for free if you’re up to it, or you can pay anything you like if you feel like contributing something. But first, here’s a listen:

I’ve been working on some dark ambient for No More Cocaine. The Dark Jazz is pretty much nonexistent right now, it’s pure Dark Ambient. No rhythmic elements either. Those will arrive, but I want to concentrate on the more Dark Ambient stuff right now. It’s pretty fun to go back to the old ambient stuff.

I haven’t done any proper ambient for years. I have few songs that barely scrape under the line to be included in the genre. But even that is like on the First and Second album of King Fear. That’s a long time ago.

I’ll probably next try to make something semi Dark Jazz slash Dark Ambient so people won’t forget that No More Cocaine isn’t just a pure ambient project.
