Info About Reviews
I review only albums that I find good, so all the album reviews are positive. I do not feel that I hold enough authority to say someone's music and lifework is not worth anything. Unlike Music Critics, or most people.
I try to be objective, although that is not the point of this website, in my reviews. However, my main goal is to provide good solid reviews that give accurate image of the sound, both by help from my words, and by the numerous tags I've implemented. And ultimately, all I want to do is to recommend good music. I ask you to check bands that you don't know, since now you have possibility to do so.
I've always thought that expanding one's musical taste is good thing. I am always open to new ideas and bands, and I hope to help at least one person to find something new they enjoy, something that they had never heard before.
I also try to keep the reviews and the content of this website extensively crosslinked, so that you can find new and similiar bands easily.
What Kind of Music We're Talking of Here?
I am admittedly a
metalhead. I tend to listen to heavy-ass churning guitar riffs, and I like some really
Experimental music as well. But it is not all I listen to, even though people tend to mostly identify me as such. This is probably because most people don't listen to such heavy music. However, I am also a firm fan of
electronic music, especially
Hard House,
Psy-Trance,
Tech-Step and some more obscure genre-breaking bands. I also simply adore all kinds of
Ambient music, and I have several
Acoustic albums.
However, unlike many, I do not concern myself with melody. In my opinion if the music has no beat, then the melody has no point. One of the reasons why I don't really care for symphonic or other
classical music, they tend to lack suitable beat. Some lone pieces have struck a chord with me (pun intended), but mostly it leaves me cold.
A music with driving beat, however, doesn't necessarily need melody, A good example would be
Tech-Step.
But, despite my preferences you will find almost anything here, although I will place certain emphasis on underground and more obscure music. You will not most likely find much
Pop-Music within these pages, and perhaps the heavier music genres dominate to some extent. However, there is still plenty of everything for everyone, please take time to explore it completely, before giving up, and remember to use
